Netflix “Love is sharing a password” still remains

Los Gatos, California (October 20, 2023) On February 2, 2023, Netflix announced they will stop password sharing which harmed millions of users. 

Consumers felt used and unheard because of this statement releasing from the streaming service. There are college students, and broken homes that may use one account being that they are still a family. Netflix understands the mistake they made since announcing this. 

“Love is sharing a password” is a statement that Netflix stated on Mar. 10, 2017 and consumers acknowledged that they understand their consumers and this still stands today. Netflix understands the gravity the recent statement harmed others. The company has reflected on their statement and actions and will continue to put their users first going forward. 

“We want to be accessible to the vast majority of the world’s population.” Greg Peters, the new co-CEO, said.  

“Love is sharing a password” was widely spread, and Netflix sees how their consumers feel and put things into action to make actual improvements to the Netflix app. Netflix has released a new feature called “Tell Us”. This allows users to express how they feel about the app and what can be approved. 

“Part of it was, we had to come up with a set of solutions that solved for those needs.” he said

Consumers have the ability to express how they feel thanks to Social media today, and it was well received because Netflix cares about their customers more. There are hundreds of streaming services today, and putting a business into a bad state will lead others to join others primarily. Consumers are Netflix’s priority and that will never change.
