Hammond, LA (May 1, 2025) Project Hope is a student organization at Southeastern Louisiana University that will host its Annual Field Day for students.

The Annual Field Day will be held at SLU Campus Cook Field on May 6 at 3 p.m. This will be Project Hope’s last event of the spring semester, and all students are welcome to attend. There will be many activities and entertainment for the students to have a good time.

The spring semester is coming to an end, attending this event will allow students to relax. Some activities that will take place are kickball, sack racing and a water balloon fight. Project Hope is currently looking for student volunteers to help with preparations and clean-up.

Makaila Selders, president of Project Hope, shared her thoughts on the upcoming event.

“What I’m looking forward to most for field day is for everyone to get a chance to wind down and just have a little fun before finals,” Selders stated.

“We want to give everyone a chance to see what we do for Project Hope as a whole,” Selders added.

“Last year, all of our members and their guests enjoyed field day, and it was a huge success, so this is something we will have every spring semester.” she stated.

Sadie Dussor, sophomore at Southeastern Louisiana University, shared her anticipation.

“I heard about this event through a flyer on Instagram. I’m looking forward to the field day activities and already invited two friends from my dorm,” Dussor stated.

“I would love to see this event in the future because it’s the perfect kind of thing for warm weather,” she added.

“Honesyly, I would like to join Project Hope to help support their cause when I can find time in my schedule,” she stated.

Field Day is the last event until the end of the semester for students to relax and take their minds off of exams.
